International English Language Testing System. IELTS tests the complete range of English language skills. It is a paper based test for English aptitude at any level for foreign Universities. This exam is conducted worldwide by British Council.

IELTS test is available in two formats academic and general. For admissions academic module is required and general module is for immigration. IELTS scores are acceptable by all UK, Australia, New Zealand & Canadian Institutions. Some of the institutions in USA, Singapore also accept IELTS as a English proficiency assessment.

It is an internationally-recognised system for testing English language skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking.

Examination Pattern:

	Academic reading/general training reading section	60 minutes
	Academic writing/general training writing section	60 minutes
	Speaking Section	11 - 14 minutes
Total test time : 2 hours and 45 minutes

Candidates are generally required to secure a minimum of 6.0 or 6.5 bands out of 9.0 bands.
