Test of English as a Foreign Language. TOEFL is the Internet based test for English aptitude at any level for foreign Universities. It measures the ability of nonnative speakers of English to use and understand English as it is spoken, written, and heard in college and university settings. . This exam is conducted worldwide by an US organization named ETS i.e Educational Testing Services, New Jersey, USA.

The TOEFL is also used by institutions in other countries where English is the language of instruction. In addition, government agencies, scholarship programs, and licensing/certification agencies use TOEFL scores to evaluate English proficiency.
